The day is being dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel , known as Iron man of India, was born in Nadiad, Gujarat on October 31, 1875. Being the first Home Minister and deputy Prime minister he understood the need of unity in the India after Independence. That time India was divided into more than 500 princely states.

He worked tirelessly to bring together all 512 princely states under the Union of India. His 597 feet statue stands high on the bank of Narmada river in Gujrat. . This Statue of Unity is double of Statue of liberty and highest in the world.

Many of celebrate a day without knowing the reason behind it. It was he who was knowing that because of diversity in culture, religion, languages India can again break and will not be able to joy the real essence of Independence. Let’s salute this great person and take a pledge to work for United India.

RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS PLEDGE
I SOLEMNLY PLEDGE THAT I DEDICATE MYSELF TO
PRESERVE THE UNITY, INTEGRITY AND SECURITY OF THE
NATION AND ALSO STRIVE HARD TO SPREAD THIS MESSAGE
AMONG MY FELLOW COUNTRYMEN. I TAKE THIS PLEDGE IN
THE SPIRIT OF UNIFICATION OF MY COUNTRY WHICH WAS
MADE POSSIBLE BY THE VISION AND ACTIONS OF LATE
SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL. I ALSO SOLEMNLY RESOLVE
TO MAKE MY OWN CONTRIOBUTION TO ENSURE INTERNAL
SECURITY OF MY COUNTRY.
